Owen and Armstrong Lead the Nation

            (John Owen)                                                   (Daniel Armstrong)

John Owen was the nation’s leading hitter this spring for the National Christian College Athletic Association, Division II and Daniel Armstrong was second.  This is the first time in FWBBC’s history when two of its baseball players led the nation in hitting.

Owen, a senior from Chipley, Florida, hit an amazing .536 for the year.  He was also 1st in on base percentage (.618), 3rd in slugging percentage (.750) and 6th in the nation in RBI with 12.

Armstrong, a sophomore from Wheelersburg, Ohio, was right behind Owen with a .516 batting average.  He was also 2nd in on base percentage (.605), 3rd in hits per game (1.45), 5th in doubles (4), 11th in stolen bases (5), and 12th in slugging percentage (.645).

“We are very proud of these guys,” said Head Coach Jerod McNeal.  “Both of them are good athletes and read pitches very well.  They make great contact with the ball.”
